ICSA How to Sign on to E-Mail

INFORMATION ON ALL ICSA MAILING LISTS

To send mail to the new list service, you will use the format of listname@topica.com, where "listname" is the name of the mailing list.

To subscribe to a list, send a blank email to listname-subscribe@topica.com. To unsubscribe, send an email to listname-unsubscribe@topica.com. Please note that there is no need to subscribe to the lists yourself if you are on the current corresponding ICYRA list. Your subscription will be automatically transferred.

Printed below is the equivalency of old ICYRA mailing lists and the new Topica.com list that replaces it.

Note that the "-list" has been eliminated in the new lists and that ICYRA has been changed to ICSA in the list names.

The dormant icyra-biz-list will not be transferred to Topica.com. Anyone wishing to discuss the ICSA Internet Project should contact ICSA Internet Coordinator, Mike Segerblom at mikesego@compuserve.com or ICSA Webmaster, Derek Webster at derek@collegesailing.org

Because the ICSA Job Bank is a web-based resource, the icyra-jobs-list will be discontinued. All current members are urged to subscribe to the main ICYRA/ICSA list for updates and information regarding sailing-related employment. Please remember that job postings to the main list are prohibited.

The ICSA Internet Committee has been working hard to make this change as seamless as possible. We will handle special cases such as people subscribing to the old lists after the change or sending messages to the old addresses. While there may be a slight delay in the implementation, we hope, that messages to the old addresses will be automatically forwarded to the new service.

Many people have been asking if the name change to ICSA will result in a new domain for the web site. There are no plans to change from the current http://www.collegesailing.org domain. The new mailing lists have" the @topica.com extension because they are supported by Topica.com, an outside company.
